Train Ride with Santa and The Kirk's Christmas Pageant

We (Gretchen and I) took the kiddies to meet the Jolly old Elf himself, Santa and take a train ride in the crisp NC winter air. What a load of crap that was. It sucked. They rushed the Big Guy just as it was the kids turn to take their pic. So here is what we got:

Dermatology Follow-up.

I saw my dermatologist last week for a follow-up visit, she wanted to know how the prescription was working. Not GREAT I told her. The Clobetasol helped with the scabbing but the TSal did not help with the itching! Blah.

So she prescribed another 2 treatments. Clobex Shampoo which is an odd liquid. I have to apply it to a dry scalp, leave in for 15 minutes, then lather and rinse.

I am currently using Derma-Smoothe/FS (Scalp Oil). I have to wet my hair then add this thick oil to my scalp, cover my hair with a shower cap and fall asleep. Again it's a thick oil so I have to wash a few times to get the grease out. Rinse repeat for 2 weeks, EVERY NIGHT. I am on night no. 3 tonight. I am still itching but the scales and scabs are going away.

If these treatments fail, there is one last option. Some kind of pill, which I have to say scares me and would not take! I am not one for over medicating oneself.

Please pray for me that all of this works well!

Disney on Ice!

I surprised the twins with tickets to go see Disney on Ice. It was a fun show and they loved it. It was a wee bit cold in the complex, but other than that the characters were great and the skating was awesome!

Derrick's favorite part was Cars, ofcourse. Gabby's favorite was Tinkerbell (which was a really long part)

Our Christmas Tree, Part 1!

We have been really busy and have not had time to decorate it, other than the Angel and the lights. But I think it is our ptrettiest tree yet! The twins picked it out on Saturday at the NC State Farmers Market. The price was nice and so were the guys! I love the smell of fresh Pine trees.

Running. Run. Ran.

How long has it been you asked? I have no idea. I am thinking 3 months. Aaaagh. I worked sooo hard and for what? To gain most of it back? My clothes are getting sooo tight. I am tired all the time. I hate my job and have been using that as my excuse for falling off the wagon.

I did start WW AGAIN last week, and I have vowed not to eat out (lunch) for the whole month of December, which has been going really well. Not. I cheated last week! So I am on day 2 of WW, and doing o.k. I really need to get out there an run. I keep making excuses and I keep hitting the snooze button.

I am going to try my best and get my ass up to run tomorrow, since the temps will be in the upper 50s when I get up!

I sold my bib for the Aramco Half Marathon, because I am not ready for any long race. I am disappointed in myslef!

Archer Farms Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix!

It's sooo bad, how good it really is! A friend of ours brought it over last Sunday, and I tried it. The flavors are delectable-yogurt raisins, cinnamon-glazed pecans, graham squares, pumpkin spice almonds and spiced raisins! YUMM.

It is currently on sale 2 for $5 (reg. price $7.99) I suggest you pick some up, before it is retired for the season!

I went to the movies last Friday and saw Four Christmases. It had some hilarious scenes. Vince Vaughn and John Favreau reunite in this "My family is Satan when it comes to the Holidays" flick. Both of them are a freakin' riot. It was cute and I recommend it.

A day at the Eno!

We spent Sunday with some friends and decided to go for a little hike along the Eno River. It was chilly but the scenery was gorgeous. All the kids ran circles around the adults. But when it came time to head back, they were exhausted.

Along one of the trails is a bridge and let me tell you, that sucker was not stable, I feared for us all. But the kids wanted to run and jump across this thing. I cringed but we made it out alive.

We were talking about making lasting childhood memories, while we yelled at them every 10 minutes or so, to wait or becareful. They will have Great Childhood memories and will enjoy it, Dammit!

Custom Cover Photo Book - Free!

My MIL loves her some OPRAH! Well a few days ago, she had a segment on Clutter Free your life and then she offered this. It is a $29.99 value, for free. All you pay is processing and shipping, which total's $7. Ordered mine the other day.

There is an expected delivery time of 3 to 4 weeks due to the volume of orders. Also the deadline has been extended to 11/22/08.

I used my book to show a year in the life of my family. I can't wait to get it. I think it turned out great!

Yes, WE DID!

Amazing, monumental, inspirational, overwhelming.......and much more, is what I felt on 11/4/2008! I am still in shock! Can't believe it.

I may not be well versed in politics, but I feel it in my heart, that he will do GREAT things. Maybe not in a year, or in one term, but he will get us going in the right direction!

As a family..

we went and VOTED! Early voting began on the 16th here in NC. Our town's early voting office opened today, so we took advantage of the no line facility, and cast our vote.

Can I tell you I am so happy to be done with it. All this politic talk and news, was just maddening and tiring.

We took the twins with us, and tried to explain the best we could what we were doing. All they cared about was the free stickers, but I did get them to say "Time for Change" over and over!

Time is just flying by!

Wow, I can't believe we are almost into November! Work has been keeping me busy.

Halloween is next week and my MIL finished Derrick's costume, and altered Gabby's:
