Bizzard? Running? Really?

I was speechless when a runner posted, "I ran 10 miles in a Blizzard" Talk about hardcore! 10 miles, in a blizzard, with 25 MPH winds. I have nothin' to complain about, especially my long run this past Sunday in 40 degree temps, and 10 MPH winds, after a huge rainstorm. I busted my ass just to get my measley 7 miles in.

This woman just became my inspiration. You know who she is!

So I am on Week 3 of the training, and it is going well, but I am soo tired after my long run. I wonder if this is normal? I am toying with the idea of getting some outdoor running gear, like a fleece headband that covers my ears, the water belt, and new gloves, I am pretty much covered in all the other areas.

Oh! and I lost my first TOENAIL! I have a sliver of old nail left on the bed, but the whole thing lifted and I clipped it. I joined the ranks!

On a sad note, a girlfrined of mine lost her brother on the 14th. He had a brain anuerysym (sp) a few days before and the outlook was not good. They removed him off LifeSupport, and he died 10 minutes later. The Vega's are in my thoughts and prayers!

Vaya con Dios, Alvaro!

I PR'd...

my first 5K with this 5K. Very exciting. It ended up being a trail run, which I have never done before. Was nervous about rolling an ankle, so I was cautious. Still trying to get used to all the damn hills here in NC.

I went for my long run the next day and it was all I could do to finish 3 miles and I called it a day. Guess a fast trail run followed by a long run (7 miles) do not mix. Oh well, I took a DOR today.

We are SICK again. WTF? every time I get better, I get sick again, soo fucking annoying.

And why is it 80 degrees in December? when it was 40 degrees last week?

16 Week - Half Marathon training

has begun. I completed Day 2 of Week 1, I am excited, But nervous about the upcoming tempo run...yikes 11:19 for 3 miles? Really? We'll see, even though I ran 11:29 miles at the 5 miler Turkey Trot, BLAH..just skeered is all.
My shins are feeling a lil' wonky, hoping nothing serious.
WI was this AM, officially I am down 34#s, soo excited, haven't been at this weight in a long time, and running has helped with every pound lost. Glad I enjoy it as much as I do.

Why am I sooo lazy?

Aack I am driving myself crazy. I need a major kick in the assss. Anywho, TDay was nice. Great : food, company, weather!

Also a great day for running. Competed in my first 5 mile race. Inside Out Turkey Trot 8K. I completed 11 Min miles, official time 56.26 minutes, not bad for the phat azzz.

Then I went for my long run that Sunday and completed 8.5 miles, well... .75 was walked but I ran the rest. Hopefully I will be in shape for a half by mid 2008. WE WILL SEE!

The floors are done, you can kinda see them in the pic above. Can I say what a major PITA that was. But I LOVE THEM! Really add sumthin to the house.

It's been a month already..

since my last post? Sheesh, the time has flown. Halloween was a blast. This is the first year the twins really dug the costumes and candy.

We had the floors replaced downstairs, which was a major PITA, still recovering, but the reults are amazing!

RUNNING - Yes still running. Up to 6.5 miles now, which is allot for this fatazz....I am running an 8K on Turkey Day, just soo I don't blow it with all the good eat's! I even got the neighbors DH to run with me. He used to be a runner, not soo much anymore.

I am sidetracked today due to this annoying fucking lung gook, which I am sure is due to all the upheavel of dust and mites from pulling up the old carpet and vinyl.

I digress, I am also running a Reindeer Romp 5K (snicker) on 12/8/07. So the holidays are upon us!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

"Heart Warming"

We had a busy weekend. Friday the twins and I met up with our Families group for a little "Jumping" fun. I think they caught something at daycare earlier this week, but they pushed through their head colds so they could go.

Saturday, our good friends, threw their only son a 4th bday party at our local park, with a jumpy house....we stayed way too long and the kids crashed.

Sunday, the twins and I met up with some friends at this taco stand, rated the best in Durham, and hell ya it was! And then we went on to see Baron von Rumblebuss.

This is where the title comes into play....a friend referred to this pic as "Heart Warming"

Taken right outside said Taco Stand!

DH left for Myrtle beach this AM...I hate sleeping in the house without him! AAAAgh....on a lighter note Traffic was doable today!

Anybody else out there in blogger land...

hate traffic? Oh.My.Gawd, I have to fight my way through ass crunching traffic everyday to get out of my town. WTF did the city planners do, when they layed out the plan for 2 lane highways leading in and out of our town? Did they not take a rise in population, into consideration? One of the reasons we left Los Angeles was to get away from the fucking traffic!

And if I leave late, god help us all!

On a happier note, I had my WW weigh in last night, 4 more lbs gone. Woop Woop. I am a few lbs away from leaving the 200's behind. I know, in a world where we are obsessed with weight, here comes another cal counting, non-fat eating, exercise junkie. Yeah, Yeah ...SO Sue me.

Another slow day at work...I feel bad...was on the net allot today. Oh well..what can you do?

And my dreams are getting just plain crazy. I dreamt dh and I got hitched, and we had that Max Factor heir guy, the one Dog the Bounty hunter caught, and the press swarmed our reception. Then fades into a PDiddy wannabe trying HARD to hook up. It was quite comical.

Well I did it....

I joined the wonderful world of Blogging! Not that my life wasn't complete without it.
