My fave project thus far.....

has to be my new jewelry organizer.  I kept all my jewelry in one of those hanging bags with pouches...so blazay...and it was always hidden.  I needed something that was in my face, daily and I could see what I had.

I scoured the blogs and saw something similar to what I made, but for the life of me I cannot remember the blog or the tutorial, so I cannot link back. Sorry!

I went to my local Goodwill and bought an old picture with a totally FAB frame $8 (it was antique gold, forgot to take before pics).  Then I went to Lowe's Home Improvement and bought some vinyl screen material $5, picture hanging hooks $2 and curtain hooks $2.

I stripped it apart, and spray painted it black. (Spray paint was leftover from another project)  After it cured, I hot glued the screen material to the back, and nailed a few small nails in the corners to reinforce.

I used the curtain hooks as pegs to hold my necklaces and that tie hanger I bought at WalMart for $4 that holds my rings.

I then hung it in my closet above my "vanity" that I also got at the goodwill, so after I am done with my hair and makeup, I can move on to accessories.  I love how it turned out and how easy it was to make.  Now there is no excuse to not wear my jewelry.

I do have to come up with an idea for all my bangles.  I have a few things in mind but need to jot them down to see if they will work.  Will update at a later time!

I finally finished the two tables.....

that I blogged about here.  I am a procrastinator...but I finally finished the second table this weekend.  It was a lot more work than I anticipated.  I modified the base from the original plans because I want to add some baskets for storage. Check out Anna White's blog, she is fabulous. Her plans are very easy to follow, very thorough.

Better late than never....

I have been neglecting the blog.  We had a busy summer, and I didn't take any pics! Well except for their birthday which I will post later!

These are just some random t-ball shots, followed by the end of the year party and trophy ceremony!  It was cute and they even made sure the girls trophies had girl players on them.

FOUND IT!

I found my camera cord! Thank you lawd!  I was cleaning up last week, preparing for my moms visit and BAM. there it was on top of the refrigerator.  Yeah I know, why was I cleaning the top of the fridge?  Whatevs...I found it.

So Gabby had her recital a couple of weeks ago, and there were no cameras or camcorders allowed into the theater (WTF?) so here are pics from the day of the rehearsal.

She did better than I thought she would, being that this was her first year in dance.  It was the sweetest thing ever.  And even better, she wants to continue.  Yay, I was hoping she would.

I lost my wire!

the wire to my camera so I can download pics.  Blah.  Nothing fantastic is going on .  The kids started baseball, Gabby revealed she no longer likes dancing and it's HOT!

Mom is coming for a visit in June, so that shall be nice.  The kids turn 6 soon. My gawd, where does the time go!  I still need to figure out what we are going to do. Decisions on a small budget are HARD!

Running has worked it's way back into my life (I know, I know), my knee is agreeing with the longer runs, but my time is slower than slow, but I am pleased that I am out there again.

Here's a short list in my boring life that I am excited about:
1. Going to see Wicked next week
2. Just found out MUSE is coming to our little side of the world.
3. My babes are not babes anymore, they are growing way to fast.
4. It's almost SUMMER, although it could be summer now with the high temps.
5. Jack Johnson will be here in August!
6. Less than 60 days till Eclipse is at IMAX.
7. Coming up on our 8 year wedding anniversary!

Okay I am done.....

The owner of this http://filmwaterforelephants.wordpress.com/ blog, twittered/tweeted ..wahtever it's called, me and told me to check it out!

So if you are a lover of this book, get thee self over there and read up on the latest news!

NARS anyone?

I guess I should have asked before I bought but I needed a makeup primer badly. Been reading up on all the reviews and it seems NARS is pretty well liked throughout the Blogging/Beauty world. Sephora carries so much, I was a little overwhelmed at first.
I also need an eyeshadow primer and think I am going ot try Urban Decays Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

Can I just say how much I love love love Kat Von D's Eyeshadows?  They are gorgeous and go on nicely.  I bought Ludwig:

And I am eyeing Beethoven:

I ordered my OPI Mad as a Hatter and Absolutely Alice last week, since ULTA is all sold out!  I have waited this long, I guess I can wait a little bit longer.

Any suggestions on great eyeshadows and primers?

I broke it!

As I was pulling everything off the walls in my downstairs bathroom for the re-do, I dropped my $2 Big Lots picture.  It was a space filler, but as I mulled over it a bit I figured out what I could do with things I already had.

I see that Monograms are big right now, so I joined in. I bought some clearance fabric at Joann's, it's really funky and stretchy and I was gonna use it to try and make my first pillow, then I thought it would look better on my idea.

All I had to buy was a "W".  I picked off the glue that held the glass in the frame.  Then I wrapped and glued the fabric over the glass, then assembled and glued the glass back into the frame.

While that dried, I spray painted the W black and painted it green.  I let that dry a bit, then went over the green with some more black spraypaint.

I let that set overnight, then I hot glued the W to the frame and hung it up in our Kitchen.  Simple.Easy.Cheap.

Scurrred! Kinda.

So with all my new found ambitiousness, there is one thing that scares me.  A SAW! Ackkk!  I think it might be the noise it makes.  Let's not forget the NAIL gun.  I handled one when we installed our floors.  So LOUD.  But I want to try my hand at building a console table!

Knock-Off Wood shows us bloggers "How to Build Knock-Out, Knock-Off Furniture".  She breaks all her plans down, step by step and tells you exactly what you will need.  Some pieces (especially her Farmhouse bed) look DAUNTING, but she did it.

I saw plans for her Simple, Cheap and Easy Console Table and thought "I could totally make that" or atleast try right?

I have nothing, by the way of tools, to make this though. Untill I asked my fave co-worker, JW, and she said "Oh, I got you! You can borrow my something something saw, it's perfect for a first time user".

It's going to be a while before I actually get the balls to start this, but I am on my way!

And a Polish Pic

OPI Shim-Merry Chic is lovely isn't it? But what a bitch to get off, I still have glittery somethings stuck to my nails and I used a ton of Acetone.

Bathroom Re-Do Part 2

I messed up the camera setting so the pics are sorta blurry, but you'll get the idea!  I decided to go with the beadboard wallpaper that I read about on Southern Hospitality, she bought her's at The HD, and I found mine at Lowes for $14 a roll.  I only used one of the two I bought and it went up rather easy, I didn't have to mess with it too much other than get the air bubbles out.

I let that dry overnight, then I cut the chair rail molding, using the area above the sink as my guide.  Once all the pieces were cut and fit nicely into eachother, I glued and nailed them to the walls, made sure the rails were level and then caulked like mad.

My husband is none to happy about the wallpaper, but I think it looks FAB!

Antique white will go on the wallpaper, and then I will repaint the walls the same color and paint the rails and baseboards with a glossy white paint.

The ceiling is still baffling me.  I have a few ideas, so we shall see!

I really like the way it turned out.

A little bit of SNOW....

Just a few pics from our BIG SNOW storm.  I shoveled the driveway and walkway, and it broke away in huge ice sheets, which the twins and Katie built an ice fort.  I really need ot invest in some snow boots, because my Aasics were soaked!
